Symmetry is a conscious photography composition decision.įurther reading: Using symmetry in photography composition for great results How to photograph horizontal lines But even then, just because you have a row of trees reflected in a lake, you don’t have to make your image symmetrical. That said, a horizontal line does work in the centre of the image with reflections. ![]() Placing the horizon in the centre of an image reduces interest and makes the composition dull.įurther reading: Why you need to know the rule of thirds – and how easy it is If the foreground is the most important part of the image, place the horizon on the top rule of thirds line. ![]() If your sky is dramatic and more interesting than the earth or sea, use the bottom rule of thirds line. It’s important to consider the rule of thirds when deciding on horizon placement in an image. It divides earth from sky, or sea from sky.īecause the horizon line breaks up your image, you need to be aware of where you place it in the photo. The most obvious one that springs to mind, again, is the horizon. Horizontal lines act as dividers in an image. This added layer makes the image more interesting for the viewer. There’s an added layer of depth, because of the additional rows created by the workers. Now imagine several farmworkers working in different rows of the vines. The diminishing horizontal lines of the vines I mentioned earlier, give depth to the image, while the repetition of the lines forms a pattern pleasing to the eye. Likewise ships on the distant horizon.įurther reading: Pattern in photography composition makes photos interesting 2. What about birds between three lines of telephone wires? The fact that they’re interrupting the lines draws your eye straight to them and makes the lines more interesting. This is because when we use other objects or lines to break the pattern, it adds interest and draws the eye to the object. If a person were in between those lines of vines, your eye would go straight to them. The vine rows closest to you are thicker and as they disappear into the background they become thinner and closer together. It works well in a photo, because the multiple horizontal lines of color layer the image, and layers add a three dimensional depth to a two dimensional photo.įurther reading: Use layers in composition for immediately awesome photos It’s a very compelling site and you find your eye skipping from one row to the next until the end. Have you ever looked down on rows of vines or wheat with the rows running horizontally in front of you? There are many ways we can use horizontal lines in photography composition to add interest to an image. How to use horizontal lines in photography Hence the secure feeling we get from horizontal lines in photography. We know that if something is in a horizontal position it won’t fall over. Objects can break up the line and, in fact, can add to the composition and emphasize the horizontal line just by breaking it.Įven though a thin horizontal line is more fragile in appearance and feeling than a thick horizontal line, it’s still restful and offers stability. ![]() You don’t need to use an exact, uninterrupted line horizontal line either. They can be implied lines, such as a row of flowers, or people or fruit Horizontal lines in photography don’t have to be actual lines. Examples of horizontal lines in photographyĪside from the ultimate and most obvious horizontal line, the horizon, they can be found everywhere in nature and in manmade objects. So let’s look at how to make the most of horizontal lines as a composition technique for better photos. This is why horizontal lines in photography composition create a feeling of stability, rest and dependability in an image. What’s more timeless, stable and certain than the horizon? Nothing. ![]()

Markedly, it is the first Soviet fighter to have full VTOL capability, allowing it to be deployed close to the front line from temporary airbases. Therefore, MiGs deplete their ammo faster and are more fragile, due to its exposed hardpoints. As a missile, it takes more room in MiGs than the bullets in the Allied and Imperial counterparts. In addition, the missile is capable of doing splash damage, thanks to its clustered warheads. Its main weapon, the Type M burst missile, can accurately track and destroy enemy aircraft, no matter how many electronic countermeasures they use, thanks to the multiple smaller warheads embedded in each missile. The end result is a formidable air dominance fighter, with a revolutionary design. The Holy Prophet, when migrated to Madinah, found that the Jews of Madinah used to fast on the 10th day of Muharram. The day is named Ashurah.Īccording to the Holy companion Ibn Abbas. Therefore, one should avail of this opportunity as much as we can.Īlthough the month of Muharram is a sanctified month as a whole, yet, the 10th day of Muharram is the most sacred among all its days. On the contrary, each fast during this month has merit. The Hadith does not mean that the award promised for fasts of Muharram can be achieved only by fasting for the whole month. the fasts one observes out of his own choice without being obligatory on him. The Hadith cited above signifies that the fasts of the month of Muharram are most reward-able ones among the Nafl fasts i.e. "The best fasts after the fasts of Ramadan are those of the month of Muharram."Īlthough the fasts of the month of Muharram are not obligatory, yet, the one who fasts in these days out of his own will and choice is entitled to a great reward by Allah Almighty. The month of Muharram has certain other characteristics peculiar to it, which are specified below. In the Shariah of our Holy Prophet the sanctity of these months was upheld and the Holy Quran referred to them as the "sanctified months". Since the Pagans of Makkah attributed themselves to Sayyidina Ibrahim they observed the sanctity of these four months and despite their frequent tribal battles, they held it unlawful to fight in these months. Thus, the sanctity of these four months was recognized right from the days of Sayyidina Ibrahim. When Allah Almighty chooses a particular time for His special blessings, then it acquires sanctity out of His grace. In fact, every month, out of the twelve, is originally equal to the other, and there is no inherent sanctity, which may be attributed to one of them in comparison to other months. But these four months were specifically termed as sanctified months for the simple reason that their sanctity was accepted even by the pagans of Makkah. The specific mention of these four months does not mean that any other month has no sanctity, because the month of Ramadan is admittedly the most sanctified month in the year. "One year consists of twelve months, of which four are sanctified months, three of them are in sequence Zulqadah, Zulhijjah, Muharram, and the fourth is Rajab." All the commentators of the Holy Quran are unanimous on this point, because the Holy Prophet in his sermon on the occasion of his last Hajj, has declared: These four months, according to the authentic traditions are the months of Zulqadah, Zulhijjah, Muharram and Rajab. Among these (twelve months) there are four sanctified". It is one of the four sanctified months about which the Holy Quran says, "The number of the months according to Allah is twelve months (mentioned) in the Book of Allah on the day in which He created heavens and the earth. Muharram is the month with which the Muslims begin their lunar Hijrah Calendar. ![]() ![]() The smaller property is self-contained with one bedroom, a kitchen and a study. ![]() The modern rear - a smart kitchen with statement blue tiles and a wood fire for ambiance - unfolds to a deep garden deck. With most popular firearm models however, manufacturers often put out different iterations, so we may see new options in the future.Īnother drawback to the pistol is that it is not ambidextrous. They also typically suffer from a lack of lumens due to their small size and tiny batteries. Unfortunately, even those compact lights and lasers for specific guns take a while to produce. Customers would like the option to mount a light or laser and can’t unless a company like Streamlight makes one specific to the gun. The biggest drawback on this gun is that it lacks an accessory rail. The front and rear slide serrations are the same pattern as the original full-size Masada pistol, which give you a comfortable, but solid grip to rack the slide even if your hands are sweaty. Ideally, it would be nice to see IWI offer an option with night sights in the future. Some manufacturers included a small notch in optics like the Romeo Zero to be a backup rear sight, but they can be less than desirable. Unlike some optic ready micro slides, you won’t lose the rear iron sights when you mount an optic. The sights are fairly basic, which include a white dot front sight and solid black rear sights they are however, tall enough so that you can co-witness your sights with your red dot in the off chance the optic stops working. One might complain about the limited optic options, but there are already over half-a-dozen well-made optics with this footprint and more manufacturers are designing optics to fit the RMS Shield optic footprint right now. The slide includes an RMS Shield optic cut, which accepts optics such as the Holosun EPS, EPS Carry, or anything with a K2 footprint, such as the Sig Romeo Zero. Wait, did we just find a handgun that fits all needs? The Jericho magazines boost capacity on the Masada Slim to seventeen rounds, which puts it right up there with full size pistols. These mags will be great for anyone with bigger hands, those simply wanting more ammo for training, or one might even use the larger mags for home protection and the shorter mags for concealed carry. Most grip sleeves however have been known to come loose when changing magazines, so IWI is currently working on a basepad with a spacer that will lock that sleeve cover into place. The Masada Slim is compatible with IWI Jericho magazines, and you can get a sleeve to cover that awkward space that hangs out from the magwell to provide a longer grip. This gun comes with two 13 round flush fit magazines or two ten round magazines if you live in a state with magazine restrictions.įor those looking for a longer grip or more capacity, there’s great news. The magazine is double stack, but bottlenecks into single stack towards the top of the magazine. Even individuals with larger hands will be able to grip the Slim comfortably and securely. The grip naturally curves into the pocket of your palmswell to provide a high and tight grip. It doesn’t have interchangeable palmswells like its big brother, the full-size Masada, but the design places your hand closer to the bore axis for more efficient recoil management. The polymer frame pistol is well balanced, and the design combination of the pistol, grip, and recoil spring make this micro-compact a pleasure to shoot, which is rare when it comes to smaller firearms. The ergonomics of the gun are ideal for a compact pistol. The 3.4” barrel creates better muzzle velocity than shorter micros. As mentioned before, it’s comparable to the original Sig Sauer P365, with the Masada Slim being just a few ounces heavier and. You really have to hold this gun to get a true feeling for its size and appreciate the ergonomics. Just looking at pictures, you’d think it’s not much smaller than a mid-size pistol. It doesn’t look like a micro-compact, but as they say, the camera always adds ten pounds. ![]() Seeing the gun in photos simply doesn’t do the Masada Slim justice. That’s a hell of a steal for this tiny package that’s optic ready, includes optic height sights, has one of the best OEM triggers on the market and shoots like a mid-sized handgun despite its micro-compact size. The Masada Slim has a similar footprint in size and weight to the Sig Sauer P365, but unlike its competitor, MSRP is only $450, which means the gun shop down the street is going to be selling it for roughly $400. ![]() |
